Sales & Business Development Manager for Europe (m/w/d)

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform sales and marketing efforts through face-to-face visits, phone, and written communications
  • Generate new leads and cold call on new customers to build sales and strong relationships through customer satisfaction
  • Support and attend trade show activities and industry meetings
  • Seek out and target new customers and new sales opportunities, initiate action plans to approach and secure new business
  • Generate written reports on customer calls, and communicate customer requirements to management, engineering and manufacturing departments
  • Generate and manage bids and proposals
  • Negotiation of contracts, purchase orders, and terms and conditions
  • Development of strategic plans to increase market share of existing products, and develop new markets for existing product or products that fit our core technology
  • Collect and communicate competitive and industry intelligence to maintain or gain market leadership
  • Develop, maintain, and improve customer relationships and customer satisfaction
  • Support on-time delivery of product
  • Generation of marketing media such as literature, press releases, web site, advertisements, graphics, video, etc.
  • Formulation of sales forecasting, budgeting, costing activities, and various other reports
  • Support contract/program issues related to product development and delivery
  • Support of product design/development, project and supply chain management
  • Support of specific product homologation/certification efforts in the country of use
  • Support of service and warranty activities
  • Regional responsibilities and sales territory: Central Europe, Scandinavia and Turkey; Russia and former Russian Republics; Israel and Arabian peninsula

Education, Experience and Culture

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required and/or a commensurate combination of skill & education
  • A degree in mechanical engineering is preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with ISO 9000 certification (or similar) preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience is preferred
  • Experience with international sales contracting of sales for capital equipment is required
  • Experience with export compliance, international shipping and basics of export financing required
  • The ability to understand highly technical products and the related sales and marketing strategies of such products required
  • A general knowledge of composite products, processes, and materials preferred
  • Experience working in an industry related to or having strong ties to the automotive sector and/or alternative fuels strongly preferred
  • Experience in working with different cultures required
  • Excellent written and oral language proficiency in English is required
  • Command of other European languages is preferred.
  • Leadership/management experience is required
